I loved knitting this cape, the yarn is so soft and slips of the needles with ease. as well as it being exciting to alternate the colours, and see the results.
The cape is stitched together at the neckline. but not all the way down the two opening seams, which means there is plently of room to move your arms freely. I have added a tassle effect down one of the seams for extra detail.
I have used six different yarns to create this garment. The yarns have been spun buy a very talented irish knitter/weaver. And these green and brown tones are just a small example of her range.
Some of the yarn is extremely thin, however, it has been woven in strings of 6 making the finished yarn really interesting. It's really hard to show the detail of these beautiful yarns, but you'll be delighted with your purchase. I've totally fallen in love in.
The Olive green, and The chocolate brown yarns are a mix of 50% cotton and 50%linen, The golden/shiney yarns are 100% viscose, the golden yarn has an interesting slub effect, and has different tones of gold, bronze, chocolate and lime. The wider yarn is a tape yarn, this is a mix of cotton and viscose.
